Hi! My name is Gem Shandiin Labarta, and I am a citizen of the Navajo Nation and a potter. I received my BA in Art History and Minor in Native American Cultures from California State University, Puvungna (Long Beach) and currently live in Baltimore, Maryland with my English Bulldog, Juicy. I have been making pottery for almost 15 years, and am so grateful for the art. I love to create functional pieces that can be used daily, without sacrificing the beauty in the everyday object while exploring Tribal specific designs.
